Classification of living organisms:

the six kingdoms

1. Plants:
this kingdom contains flowering plants, mosses and ferns. The plants come in all shapes and sizes.
Plant cells are complex and they are all multi-cellular. The plant kingdom is eukaryotic.
This plant kingdom the the 2nd largest kingdom out of all 6 kingdoms.
Plants are all autotrophs or organisms that can produce their own food.
Plants also feed all other living organisms that can not feed themselves.

2. Animals:
The animal kingdom is the largest out of all the kingdoms.
examples: tiger, lion, dog, hippo, sloth, anteater and HUMANS.Animals can not produce food for them to live off of, so they are heterotrophs, which means they feed off of other organisms. The cells of animals are very complex and are eukaryotic. They are also multi-cellular. ../16/white-tigers

3. Archaebacteria:
Archaebacteria are uni-cellular organizms, they live in extreme environments such as boiling water and places with high acid and no oxygen.
3 types of pylums
Methanogens- live in the intestines of other organisms, help break down food for energy. Halophiles- these types can only live in large bodies of salt water, like oceans. Are found in very very hot water and sulfur springs. Thermoacidophiles- - Are found in very very hot water and sulfur springs. An example is methonosarcina

Eubacteria is also complexed and single celled.
Most of the bacteria fall into the kingdom of eubacteria. The reason eubacteria has its own kingdom is because their chemical makeup
is different from other bacteria's in the archaebacteria group.
they can live on your eyelashes or even your mouth.
Eubacteria can help in many ways too, some can produce vitamins and yogurt. But also some can be harmful and give you strep throat.

5. Fungi:
Fungi is an organism that are much like plants, however unlike plants, they can not produce their own food. They feed off of other plants
decaying in the soil.examples of fungi are: Mushrooms, Mold and Mildew

Fungi help eat harmful and bad bacteria and keep the good bacteria around.

Most fungi consist of many complex cells. Most all fungi is multi-cellular and eukaryotic.

6. Protist:
Protist are all microscopic organisms that belong to neither to the plant, animal, bacteria or fungi kingdom. Protest can not fit into the bacteria kingdom because they have more complex cells. The protest kingdom is eukaryotic. They are also uni-cellular.

protest like to live in water, like streams, ponds or oceans.
example: Molds and Algae.
